FP 116 Horse Close Bridge To Station Road via Low Wood

Description

This path commences opposite Royds Hall Lane GRID SE 14279 27365 about 30 m East from Horse Close Bridge GRID SE there is a path to the side of the stony lane which often becomes waterlogged. Low Wood is a Marshy Woodland regretably Bradfod MDC have not effectively consulted with the Heritage Group on matters realting to this Wood

 

This entrance is directly opposite Royds Hall Lane but a stile is located about 15m to the left off the actual formal footpath route

 

 

 

 

Wildlife

This lane is sandwiched between Old Hanna Wood & Royds Hall Great Woods, to the North and Low Wood to the South Grey Squiirels are plentiful and forage for Beech Nuts . Many small finches can be heard and Swifts and Swallows fly over the Bridge in summer to feed on the numerous insects deriving fro the tree canopy . Mallard and Duck will congregate in winter when it becomes damp and wet . Green Woodpeckers can alos be heard echoing around the woods. Treecreepers , Nuthatches are also around. Robins feed on the prolific hawthorn berries which help these birds overwinter . Blue Tits are plentiful and will follow you along the hedge line in winter
