Similar to the Caddis Fly it is smaller but wings are more apparently veined and free of hairs folding tent wise over the body . THis insect is a por flier and is seen motionless clinging to reds and other plants and stems contray to its name , rarely on an Alder Tree. It makes brief flights mainly at Dusk Dense mats contain up to 2000 eggs floating on a dense mat Larvae sppend about two years in the aquatic state at the bottom of rivers and lakes April - August
